Attorney ad Litem, Guardian ad Litem and Child Advocacy Services
In Dependency cases, Guardian ad Litem services are always pro bono (volunteer) and appointed through the court via the 18th Judicial Circuit Guardian ad Litem program.
In Divorce/Family cases (non-dependency situations), Brooke is available upon the agreement and request of divorcing parents and/or the court to complete social investigations and act as the voice of the Minor Children in divorce and custody situations, looking out for the child or children's best interests and conducting ongoing assessments of a Minor Child's wants and needs. Upon authorization of the parents and/or order of the court, Brooke conducts visits with the Minor Child both at school and in the homes of both parents. She interviews counselors and teachers and other parties the parents or court believe to be relevant or important. Her approach is friendly and calming to the children. In addition to her legal, mediation, parenting coordination and arbitration experience, Brooke is an active parent and community volunteer involved in many school and children's organizations concerning both abused and neglected as well as special needs children. She participates in regular trainings on youth issues and stays on top of ongoing studies of positive youth development.
Retainer for Divorce/Family Attorney ad Litem or Guardian Ad Litem services is $3,000 and is billed at $300 per hour.
